Special Works - Community Stores and Distribution Centers Services

Society of St. Vincent de Paul
Community Stores and Distribution Centers

Mandate of the Stores Division:

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Stores’ Division bears witness to our Christian faith through the solicitude and care of those who lack adequate clothing and furniture. We act as an intermediary between people who wish to donate and those in need.

“Service to the poor is the service of Christ himself.” Therefore the Society aspires to serve and become part of communities that are economically disadvantaged.

The Stores’ Division endeavors to integrate the benevolent assistance provided by Vincentians, local Parishes and community volunteers in meeting the needs of justice and charity in the community.

Bundle Up Collections:

Donations of gently used clothing and small household goods are collected through Bundle Up Collections. Society trucks are parked in up to six parish parking lots each weekend. Members of the Society attend the truck before and after masses to accept donations.

Bundle Up Collections also take place at schools and businesses during the week.
If you are interested in arranging a collection, please contact our Stores Division at
(416) 503-2472.

Your donated clothing and household goods are used in the following ways:

  • offered to persons in need through a voucher system at our community stores
  • offered to residents and/or clients in our emergency shelters, court services and Marygrove Camp programs
  • sold at low cost in our community stores with revenue used to assist in the support of our other programs

Vouchers and New Bed, Table and Chairs Program:

The Society is committed to providing emergency assistance to those in need. Conferences have the ability to supply individuals and families with clothing vouchers, new beds as well as tables and chairs through a voucher system. Through the home visitation program, members of the Society can identify the need, and help respond with this type of material assistance. A relationship has also been established with Goodwill in order to provide greater access to store locations for people needing to redeem their vouchers.
