Welcome to the official website of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in Toronto: St. Lawrence Conference in Scarborough.
We are a non-profit group helping those in our community. This website was created as a modern pro-active way to motivate youth to help out and to be up to date with today’s methods of reaching out to people.
A special thank you goes to the employees of Telus for their support, adopting many families, and for helping us members deliver Christmas baskets to those in need.
A Special Thanks goes to our friends from Telus that have been helping us for the last 20 years. Thanks you to the team of Mayan McKenzie, Leanne Frick and Nicole Basten for coordinating the sponsorship of many families and delivers.
Help bring joy to a family in need this upcoming Christmas by sponsoring a needy family with a Christmas basket.
At Christmas you can adopt a family through the “Sponsor a Family Program” and provide for their necessities. We will give you names, needs, ages of the children and the family situation.
Typical baskets cost $200–$300, but any amount is welcome. Tax receipts are provided.
Please consider sponsoring a family in Scarborough this Christmas!
We are “volunteers” – members of The Society of St. Vincent De Paul, an organization designed to help people in in need. We operate within our parish, so we live nearby.
We are funded by donations from parishioners of the local Catholic Church and friends of the Society. Basically, we are neighbours sharing with neighbours. We pray for all the people in need and our benefactors.
When people call us with a problem we’ll try to help.

We are volunteers of the Society of Saint Vincent De Paul, an organization that has, for over 170 years, been called by God to serve and assist those in need.
The St. Lawrence the Martyr Church Conference in Toronto has thirteen screened volunteers and is responsible for providing assistance to its district. By visiting people in their homes, we are able to best assess their needs. In some cases we provide aid with food or clothing, vouchers or furniture. In all cases we bring compassion, respect, and love.
The material assistance we are able to provide is due to the generosity of our parishioners, through the poor box. They trust the society and its volunteers to use the funds to assist those who are most in need. We sincerely thank our parishioners for their continued support.
100% of donations are used to help those in need in our community.
Thank you and God Bless.
